To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart. - Eleanor Roosevelt
You are always in the constant war of the MIND and the HEART. At the edge of being torn apart by two equally strong ends, you find yourself trapped in the pool of uncertainties.
Which end should I choose?
What should I do?
The MIND rationalizes,
Should my decision be along the lines of rationality?
But the HEART feels.
Should I be swayed by the emotions bottled up within?
When you are about to close an old chapter, you are often stuck at that one particular point in time where you are about to start a new chapter. Fear is the one matter that subconsciously being projected into our mind, which often navigates our footsteps to a place called "SELF-DOUBT".
Am I ever ready?
The mind only reasons based on our pasts, it does not exist in the present moment. The mind does not have the power to look forward into the future. The heart says yes but the mind tries to act against it. Who is speaking the truth?
The answer is BOTH. Yes, you did not read that wrong. Don't worry, your eyesight is fine. There is nothing wrong with it. Now listen, both of them have things to tell you. You see, each one of you are bought into this life with personality and soul that are individually unique. We all started with a blank piece of paper but everyone has their own set of understanding that plays a part in the guidance of how they paint their life. Not one is the same as the other.
From the perspective of choosing one side over the other, what if it wasn't an "either-or" scenario and it was simply about understanding the uniqueness of each end. People tend to choose the superiority between the two, being the mind at most times. This is because the mind governs based on reasonings and facts but the heart is the one being carried away by feelings and humane sentiments. The truth is one cannot exist without the other. Without the heart, the mind ignores the emotional aspect of the situation, whereas guidance will be impossible if the situation is being led painly by the heart without any logical reason. Both are a whole that are connected by a magnetic force.
I like thinking/feeling people who don’t separate reason from heart. Who feel and think at the same time. Who don’t divorce the head from the heart, or emotion from reason.
-Eduardo Galeano
Take some time to sort through all the factors, both rational and irrational, your judgment on the subject should be clearer. Listen to your mind, the one that serves the function of logical thinking, let it argue with the reasonings that you have subconsciously created. But always remember, you should not be a slave of your thoughts, as it may not speak of what is "right". It's good to listen, not to be driven. Your heart serves a similar important purpose as well, so please give your heart an equal chance to speak up. It is our emotions that mark the path we are drawn into, but our mind is the one that builds the best possible route.
Close your eyes and calm your inner demons. "Everything you need to focus and feel better is already within you." In reality, facing any type of situation, you are never going to be 100% ready and it is never going to be just the right time, but that is the beauty of life. Life is about growth. Waiting for the right time to come, and never taking any chances, how would you know if the one chance you have let go wasn't the right one?
Being happy doesn't mean everything has to be at the right time, at the right place, nor it has to be perfect. It simply means that you have decided to look past the imperfections and learn how to live through it.
Every moment is the right moment. The decision is all in your hands, for you to take it or leave it. The time to claim your happiness is not beyond your reach, just be as you are, you have your permission to be happy.
No more waiting on the change you wanted for the future.
Be the change, claim your future!
